Is Matt Lauer Wooing NBC Intern?

Is Matt Lauer Wooing NBC Intern?

Is Matt Lauer back to his skirt chasing days?

The National Enquirer says that Lauer is caught up in a new scandal over his wandering eye – this time it’s because of a 20-year-old college coed!

The ENQUIRER has learned the 55-year-old “Today” show host is “obsessed” with gorgeous Johns Hopkins University student Lucie Fink. He’s reportedly been sending her flirty texts and even whisked her away to a swanky New York City hotel for lunch, all apparently behind the back of his wife Annette Roque.

Lucie has made several appearances on “Today” over the past 15 months to discuss social issues – and she’s been interviewed by Matt four of those times.

Fox News Anchor Headed to CBS O&O

204x204-rick-folbaum.jpg

Yesterday, FTVLive told you FIRST and Exclusively that Fox News Anchor Rick Folbaum is leaving New York and Fox News and headed to South Florida.

Now, sources tell FTVLive just which station he is going to.

Our Source says that Folbaum is headed to CBS's WFOR in Miami.

No word on what show he'll be working on and no official word yet from FNC that he is leaving.

Folbum has been in the Fox den for the past decade.

Stay tuned and remember where you read it first.

Sorry Geraldo... the Dog Looks Better

Ever since Geraldo Rivera decided to post a naked selfie of himself on Twitter, we have tried everything to wash that image our of our mind.

The good news that after seeing the photo of the 105 year old Rivera, our appetite has decreased and we have been able to drop a few pounds.

BTW if we drop 5 more pounds, look for FTVLive to post a naked selfie in the near future.

Glenn Beck (above) took his swipe at Rivera by posting his own selfie, but instead of going nude, Beck put on as much clothes as he could. And we for one say thank you God that he did (but, can someone show Beck which way is up on his iPad?).

But the best photo is of a dog that posted his naked selfie and was wearing nothing but a smile and his collar.

And we have to admit, the K-9 looks much better than Geraldo.

By the way, Rivera says he took the photo down off Twitter after Fox News ordered him to do so.

We figured old Roger Ailes wasn't going to like it.

KTVU Meets with AAJA

Screen Shot 2013-07-23 at 7.30.39 AM.png

KTVU sat down with the Asian American Journalists Association to talk about what led to the station’s infamous slip-up.

AAJA’s Tomoko A. Hosaka and others from the association met with News Director Lee Rosenthal, Vice President & General Manager Tom Raponi, staff reporter Amber Lee and Rosy Chu, director of community affairs and public service.

Hosaka had this to say after the meeting:

"We thank KTVU for taking the time to speak with us in person. The dialogue helped us better understand what led to the airing of the fake Asiana pilots’ names, and the station reiterated its deep remorse over the incident. It also resulted in concrete steps promised by KTVU to improve its journalistic practices and repair its relationship with the Asian American community. KTVU and AAJA will work together in the months ahead on these various initiatives. We will provide more details in the coming days."

We're hoping that Rosenthal did not show up to the meeting with fortune cookies and Panda Express. Then again, KTVU has not been very smart through this entire incident.

Now this is Breaking News...

Now this is Breaking News...

I guess you can call this real "breaking news."   As in, the building where you are producing the news is breaking apart.

KGET did the newscast on Saturday night, just after part on the station's building came crashing down.

Weekend anchor Kelsey Thomas said she was composing a story at the station, when about 9:30 p.m. when she heard a loud boom and the lights went out, except for in the editing bay where she was working. Determined to have the piece ready for the late news, Thomas continued to work while another reporter ran out to investigate and called 911.

Bakersfield Fire Department personnel found that a roughly 12-by-40-foot-long portion of the building's second-story soffit, or outdoor ceiling, had collapsed, Battalion Chief Gary Turner said. The crash damaged windows and electrical wires but no one was injured. Still, firefighters searched the debris twice to make sure no one was trapped under rubble.

Media Loves Sex Scandals...Public Could Care Less

Media Loves Sex Scandals...Public Could Care Less

When it comes to sex scandals the media seems to just eat them up.

As for the public?

Not so much.

Michael Wolff writes in USA Today all the media outlets in New York, as well as many nationally, have expressed feelings of disdain and grossness about the candidacies of sex scandal personalities Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer.

Yet, Spitzer, despite the constant rehashing of his expensive prostitution habit, overwhelmingly leads his opponent. And Weiner, notwithstanding the relentless jokes about his private part tweets, jumped to the top of a crowded field with little effort.

The former New York governor and the former Brooklyn congressman are hardly the only sex-tainted politicians around the country to have emerged from media opprobrium and mockery to flourish in renewed careers.

Baffling the media, Mark Sanford, the South Carolina governor who had an operatic affair, is now in Congress. Bill Clinton, of course, continues to stand as a monument to dashed media expectations.

So how come the media is so stubbornly out of step with its audience and, evidently, the new political mores?

Motown Weatherman Signs off

22883706_BG1.jpg

Detroit insiders tell FTVLive that a week ago, WJBK morning meteorologist Ben Bailey handed in his two week notice to VP News/ND Dana Hahn.

Bailey has been with the station nearly nine years, as morning meteorologist.

His last day was Friday, as he uses out his vacation time.

He posted this message to the station's website:

"After nearly nine years at Fox 2, I've decided it's time for me to move on. I appreciate the opportunity Fox has given me to do what I love most. A heartfelt "thank you" to all of our loyal viewers. You are the reason for our success in the morning."

Hahn has stated in the past "the only reason people watch the morning news is for Ben Bailey." It was a line that didn't sit well with some staffers and now it means viewers have no reason to watch WJBK in the mornings.

No word yet on where Bailey is headed, though it is common knowledge he aspires to be a chief meteorologist says our source.

Stay tuned...

Univision to End July Book on Top

new-Univision-logo__130221235240__130722215800.png

It's the July book....and let's be honest it really doesn't count. But, you still have to give some props to spanish language network Univision.

Univision is about to finish the July book at No. 1 in both the 18-49 and 18-34 demographic groups, beating all of the English-language broadcast networks – a sweep first for the Spanish-language network.

During the book, Univision is delivering an average audience of nearly 3.6 million total viewers, 1.8 million Adults 18-49, 874,000 Adults 18-34, and 1.1 million Persons 12-34 in primetime. Those stats also put Univision in first place for the sweep among 12-34 year olds — with a 30 percent lead over nearest competitor, Fox. While fourth placed among viewers of all ages (ahead of Fox), Univision leaps to the top of the pack with 18-49-ers, who are the currency of most scripted entertainment programming ad sales.

In that age bracket,  Univision will wrap the sweep 21 percent ahead of second place broadcaster, Fox.

“Finishing the February sweep as the No. 4 network, ahead of  NBC, made a major impact. Wrapping up July – during a time when other networks are investing more than ever in summer programming – as the No. 1 network among both Adults 18-49 and 18-34 for the first time, is making history,” said Univision CEO Randy Falco who, before joining the Univision, spent 30 years at NBC.

Hello O-Town

4046439519_7009073b24.jpg

Today's FTVLive is coming to you from the land of Mickey and Shamu, Orlando, Florida.

I'm in O-Town playing in a qualifier for the State Match Play golf tournament.

This is my 5th day in a row of tournament golf, which is almost as much golf as I have played this entire Summer so far.

After Today's round it is back to the FTVLive World Headquarters and then on Wednesday morning it's one more qualifier before things settle down and get back to normal.

I hope so...I need some sleep.

Fox News Anchor Headed to SoFlo

Fox News Anchor Headed to SoFlo

It appears that Fox News Anchor Rick Folbaum is leaving the Big Apple and headed to South Florida.

Nothing has been announced from Fox as of yet, but Folbaum's wife has let the cat out of the bag on her blog.

Folbaum's wife Kelcey Kintner writes a blog called The Mama Bird Diaries. on her latest entry she writes "We are moving. To the Miami area. I have lived in New York a long time and it’s hard to imagine myself as anything but a girl who lives in NY but now I’m going to be a girl who lives in FL.

Why are we moving?

Mostly because we want to wait in long voting lines and be swing voters. And eat dinner much earlier. Plus, my husband got a new job opportunity down there. Wrangling alligators I think."
