Let Us Pray

Over at Tegna’s KREM in Spokane, Anchor/Reporter Tim Pham went on his station branded social media and asked for people to join him and pray to Jesus.

Spokane is dealing with some very nasty wildfires, and the stories coming out are heartbreaking.

While I’m not sure that anyone would doubt Pham’s heart is in the right place, the question is: is the place to share your religion and beliefs?

Let’s say a Tegna employee worshiped Satan and asked viewers on their station-branded account to pray to the Dark Lord for those in the fire’s path? Would Tegna be okay with that?

If a Muslim employee asks viewers to Allah, is that cool?

I believe everyone has a right to their religion and pray to whatever God they want. But should a journalist share those beliefs publicly with viewers?
