The Immature Philly Anchor

Since this is a Fox O&O, I guess this should be expected.

Earlier this week, FTVLive had a story about WTXF (Philly) Anchor Jason Martinez anchoring the newscast wearing a Philadelphia Eagles jersey under his sport coat.

A number of people at Fox Philly thought it was inappropriate for an anchor to tell the news in a football jersey.

You would think that this would not happen in a top 5 market, but it did.

So, what did Martinez do?

He took to social media and showed himself in a tux, saying that this was the way he would now deliver the news.

While Anchors are tasked with the job of informing viewers of tragic news, such as murders, wars, and crimes throughout the world and their community, for Martinez, it is all a joke.

“Let’s wear a tux to make it seem like I’m extra formal to get back at the bad FTVLive man. Bro, you’re wearing this shit and talking about people dying,” said one journalist to FTVLive, adding, “Just say you’re not serious and people shouldn’t take you seriously. You’re honestly an embarrassment”.

It’s sad that the Philly station has an anchor who acts like a child, but it’s more sad that Fox Television can’t reign in their people.
