No Cheering on the News Desk

"No cheering in the press box" is a long-standing traditional adage and professional rule in North American journalism. For decades, it has been an established journalistic dictum.

But, we now live in a world where many Journalists look at themselves more as influencers and not someone who is supposed to objectively cover the news.

WTXF (Philly) Anchor Jason Martinez thought it would be a good idea to wear a Philadelphia Eagles jersey under his sport jacket to anchor the news.

This is not market 80, it is in the top 5!

You are reporting on the war in Iran, spot news like shootings and fires, all while wearing a football jersey.

What if Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (pictured) took the field, wearing a jacket and tie, dressed basically like a news anchor?

Would that be okay? Or, would you think it was a bit odd, and certainly not professional?

Exactly.

Props to Shiba Russell for being more professional.
