Like No One Saw this One Coming

The situation at Nexstar’s WTWO (Terre Haute) has been a mess for months, ever since the station parted ways with rookie Met Alex Kerkhove.

Station insiders told FTVLive Kerkhove and WTWO Chief Met Jesse Walker had a “creepy” relationship, in their words. Kerkhove admits that her hanging out with Walker at the station was one of the things that station management didn’t like.

After Kerkhove was gone from the station, Walker started rumbling that he would be leaving as well.

Walker had been with WTWO for over 40 years.

He announced that he was leaving and his last day would be October 2nd, saying that he was going to launch his own weather company. Not surprisingly, Kerkhove was joining him in that venture.

Well, in a surprise to no one, Walker was told he worked his last day at the station and Nexstar was not giving him the chance to say goodbye.

Was it petty for Nexstar to do? Of course, but it certainly wasn’t surprising.

Obviously, Nexstar could have (and should have) let Walker record a goodbye to viewers. That way, they know the message and there is no worry of Walker going rogue, live on the air.

But, this was obviously a fractured relationship and expecting Nexstar to do the right thing is a bit of a pipe dream.

After a number of stories about this saga and the strange relationship between the two Mets, this very well likely could be the last time you see these two mentioned on FTVLive ever again.

Kekhove took to social media to stand by her man.
