Hi Scott:  The current hand-wringing over CBS News and Anchorlackey Tony is really just a waste of time and space. CBS News,as we knew it, died the day Shari handed the keys over to Ellison. Since then, the narrative has gone as predicted.  Ellison hires Weiss (after "buying" her Company ) to "reform" CBS News. She grabs the wheel and transforms the once-Tiffany News operation into a 2nd rate Public Relations/Propaganda arm of the Administration. You might have noticed since taking over, Anchor Tony has interviewed an administration official EVERY night.  The death of 60 MINUTES. And at CBS News--WHAT January 6th Anniversary?? 
It's over, Scott.  We feel bad for all the CBS employees who dedicated their careers and lives to what CBS News was.  But it IS over.
There's really no point in future debate because it will not change.
As Mr. Cronkite used to say: "And that's the way it is..."

Great post.  I have watched numerous newscasts on both local and national outlets and see the same thing.  And, it's not only the talent, it's the guests, as well.  One of the worst offenders is Congressman Jamie Raskin.  A frequent guest on MSNBC.  This is a shot from the other night and is not a one-off.  Most often he looks like this.  Does no one own a mirror or have the decency to suggest he might want to cinch up the tie?

I’m so sick and tired of the Big 3 broadcast news operations being painted as  ‘liberal’ all these many years….since the days of Willam Paley and Ed Murrow.

Anyone who has ever gone to Journalism school knows the simple truths that we are trained to report/question both sides of a story, get confirmation by two/three reliable sources before reporting investigations, and always act as a watchdog and hold the powerful to account as representatives of the public interest.

The independence of Journalism in the arena of constitutionally-protected free speech is the ONLY thing keeping this country from just having state-run media and mouthpieces to the powerful and elite.

Now, when you take in everything said above, you understand why the RIGHT hates the very existence of independent Journalism so much and always labels it as LEFT.  It’s there to always question its power. Question the wrong or the corrupt or the criminal. The RIGHT would rather call it Fake news first, before admitting it’s wrong or corrupt.  

Simply put, is it LIBERAL to hold both sides to account?  Is it LIBERAL to question power on both sides? 

If that’s liberal, then sign me up for that country of transparency, honesty and integrity. Unfortunately, now it’s been completely lost in our new media world of real propaganda and poor, dishonest Journalism.
