Scott Pelley Buys Texas Ranch

The New York Post is doubling down on their report that CBS is looking to push out Anchor Scott Pelley.

Two days ago, FTVLive told you that the Post said that CBS was looking to pull Pelley from the Evening News and move him over to 60 Minutes full time.

Today the paper says that Pelley recently bought a ranch in his native Texas.

The Post writes that insiders say that Pelley — who, according to insiders, is poised to move to “60 Minutes” full time — would be able to work from home in his new role.

“When he joins ‘60 Minutes,’ he doesn’t want to go into the office,” said a source.

Pelley currently has a place in Darien, Conn., where he has a fully functional studio, which he calls the “Darien Bureau,” for working on “60 Minutes” pieces.

CBS — which has denied that Pelley is being bumped from “CBS Evening News” — declined to comment.

However, a source close to the veteran newsman confirmed the purchase but insisted the ranch is a “vacation home.”

“He owns many properties, including an apartment he just bought in Manhattan that cost considerably more than the ranch.”
