Donald Trump Still on the Payroll for NBC's The Apprentice

At the end of each episode of NBC's The Apprentice, you will see that the Executive Producer of the show also happens to be the President.

Despite the fact that The Apprentice has moved on with Arnold Schwarzenegger replacing Trump as the star, Trump will still be listed as the EP of the show.

So in-between making sure that North Korea is pointing nukes our direction, the President will also be EPing a show on NBC.

Just when you thought it could not get more strange.

“The fact that a sitting president will be on the payroll of a current TV show is another example of the thicket of potential conflicts of interest raised by Trump’s segue from private businessman and TV star to commander-in-chief,” Variety writes.

But, you may remember that NBC cut ties with Trump over one of his racist rants. Remember this statement?

“At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values,” the network said in a statement. “Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump. To that end, the annual Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants, which are part of a joint venture between NBC and Trump, will no longer air on NBC. In addition, as Mr. Trump has already indicated, he will not be participating in The Celebrity Apprentice on NBC.”

But here's the kicker,  Apprentice is licensed from Mark Burnett’s United Artists Media Group and while NBC gave Trump the boot, Burnett did not.

So, Trump remains and EP on the show.
