Sinclair Drops Lawsuit Against Former Reporter

After catching a ton of bad publicity, it looks like Sinclair is taking its ball and going home.

FTVLive told you that the evil empire was looking to take legal action against former WPEC Reporter Lauren Hills after she left the station and the TV news business.

In court papers made public this week, the evil empire agreed to dismiss the breach of contract lawsuit it filed against Hills in November.

Attorney Patrick Hopple, who represented the former WPEC reporter, said the terms were confidential and he couldn’t comment on why Sinclair dropped the suit.

Hills did not comment.

Jonathan Beaton, another former WPEC reporter, said he expects Sinclair to take similar action in a lawsuit it filed against him, seeking to recover $5,700 because he quit in 2015 before his $42,000 annual contract expired. Beaton, who now runs a public relations company in Orlando, said he has been in talks with Sinclair’s attorney about ending the litigation it filed against him in Orange County.

This news will give many Sinclair employees that want to walk, something to smile about.
