FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that Nexstar owned WRIC had parted ways with News Director Kelly Woodard.
Woodard was the News Director that signed off on the idea of the station selling sponsorships on "breaking News" stories.
FTVLive FIRST broke the story about the station sponsoring "breaking news" back in June. Sources tell FTVLive that after our story, Nexstar pulled the plug on the breaking news sponsorship and Woodard's fate at the station was sealed.
Woodward was one of the lone minorities sitting in a management position at a Nexstar station. As FTVLive has pointed out, the company often fills their management jobs with old white guys.
Right now, old white guy Jim DePury is the acting ND.
