Back in the Saddle in Harrisburg

Back in early December, FTVLive told you that WHTM Anchor/Reporter Al Gnoza was fired from the Harrisburg station d for making a joke on air about Three Mile Island. The joke, according to a Tweet that Gnoza shared on his profile, was "If you hear a siren tomorrow, we are all going to die."

On January 12th, FTVLive told you that Gnoza was going to resurface at another station in town. Now we know where he is headed.

CBS affiliate WHP announced that Gnoza is joining the station.

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with CBS 21 News,” Gnoza said. “This is a fantastic group of people that are putting out first-rate newscasts. I am also very happy that I am able to stay in central Pennsylvania where I have made so many friends and worked with so many exceptional organizations.”

Gnoza worked for WHP back in the late 90's as the Weather Anchor. He will stick to news this time around.

Didn't Sound Like Motherfucker to me

Seattle Seahawks Wide Receiver Doug Baldwin went on a post game rant to the media just moments after they won the NFL Championship in a miraculous game.

ESPN Seahawks writer Terry Blount wrote about Baldwin's rant that according to him included some spicy language.

Here's how a portion of Baldwin's rant was transcribed by Blount:

"At 16-0 at the half [Sunday], how many of you m——-f——— counted us out? How many of y'all doubted us?"

[...]

"It is indicative of our season," said Baldwin, who finished the game with six catches for 106 yards. "Y'all didn't want to believe in us. It's OK. We don't need you to believe. We're going to believe in ourselves. We ain't worried about you m——-f———. We are worried about ourselves.

According to ESPN, Bladwin dropped at leat a couple of "motherfuckers," but if you watch the actual video, Baldwin says "Y'all" with sounds nothing like "motherfucker."

So why did ESPN put bad words in the receiver's mouth? Word is that when ESPN ran the clip on air they bleeped out the "Y'alls" and made it sound like Baldwin was cursing when he clearly was not.

What's up with that?

Can CBS Sports Star Pull a Marv Albert?

FTVLive told you on Saturday that CBS Sports Basketball analyst and former NBA player Greg Anthony has been arrested and charged with soliciting a prostitute.

CBS and Turner Broadcasting quickly announced he would not return this season.

So the question is can Anthony make a comeback or is his TV career over?

He made a step in the right direction by owning up to his mistake. In a statement, Anthony said, “I made a mistake. With the lapse of judgment, I embarrassed many, including myself. I will work to regain the trust I have lost, and the first step is saying that I’m sorry.”

But, if Marv Albert can make a comeback, the odds that Anthony could do the same are pretty high.

In 1997, veteran NBC Sports broadcaster Marv Albert was fired eight months after being charged in a hotel room incident in the Washington, D.C., area. His firing came after he pleaded guilty to lesser charges in connection with an incident involving a female friend. The trial included testimony that Albert wore ladies underwear and had a biting fetish. Albert later returned to the broadcast booth.

As far has we know, Anthony had on men's underwear when he was arrested and didn't bite anyone.

Stay tuned....

Stalking the Stalker?

The man that plead guilty to stalking  Anderson Cooper is now claiming the CNN Anchor’s longtime partner is possibly behind a stalking campaign against him.

Alex Hausner, 40, whined to Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon on Tuesday that “surrogates” of Cooper's boyfriend Benjamin Maisani are stalking him online and that he feels he’s in danger.

“I am under the impression that some of the people, various people from various places, might actually be some sort of surrogate for Mr. Maisani... again there are many different facets of scumbag society,” Hausner babbled at his court appearance in his stalking and harassment case.

“What are you telling me this for?” asked Solomon.

“Because I feel like I’m in danger and I think this case contributed to that,” Hausner went on. Haunser, who claimed he understood the nature of his actions, also said “sources” have told him that the night club owner boyfriend of the TV journalist is behind the supposed cyber harassment — although there is apparently no proof of it.

Hausner pleaded guilty to menacing and aggravated harassment last year.

He was required to get extensive treatment and was promised what amounts to time served plus five years’ probation if he completed the counseling and steered clear of the famous pair.

Facebook to Try and Kill Fake News Stories

Betty White has died at least half a dozen times on Facebook, so has Hugh Hefner.

Now, the Social Media company says they are going to try and stop fake news stories from getting into Facebook's news feed.

Facebook doesn’t want those to appear in the news feed, so it has added an option for users to report an item in their news feed as false, the company said Tuesday.

If enough people report a piece of content, a notification will be added to it saying “Many people on Facebook have reported that this story contains false information.” Facebook didn’t say how many times an item will have to be flagged to trigger the warning.

Facebook said it won’t remove the posts identified as false. But they’ll likely appear less often in users’ news feeds, in part because users might delete them or share them less frequently.

The effort to screen out fake items isn’t just about keeping people informed. Users can typically spot such hoaxes.

Rather, the initiative is part of Facebook’s effort to make the news feed more useful so users spend more time and come back more often. Facebook calls this packing the feed with “high quality content.”

Oklahoma Stations Still off Dish

The pissing match between Dish Network and Griffin Communications' stations in Oklahoma City and Tulsa remains the same.

Both KOTV (Tulsa) and KWTV (OKC) are still off the satellite and the two sides are both blaming each other.

On the website keepnews9.com (keepnewson6.com for Tulsa viewers) they explain their side of the deal while Dish puts up a site (dishvaluepledge.com) that leads to fairsatellite.com (supposedly) explaining theirs.

DISH viewers in Oklahoma did miss watching New England's smackdown of Indianapolis in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.

The battle between greedy rich people continues.

City of Paris Plans On Suing Fox News (Updated)

The Mayor of Paris thinks Fox News should pay up for airing a number of segments claiming the French capital contained “no-go zones” that prohibit entry to non-Muslims and are frequently avoided by city police.

Fox News has retracted and apologized for airing the segments.

But that isn't stopping Paris form wanting FNC to pay the price.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo went on CNN to announce her intentions against Fox News. "I’m insulted, and when we’ve had an image, then I think they’ll have to sue, I think they’ll have to go to court, in order to have these words removed. The image of Paris has been prejudiced, and the honor of Paris [has] been prejudiced. And I think in the great discussion of truth, everyone has to play its role and we’re going to have to be realistic and put things as they are," the Mayor told CNN's Christiane Amanpour.

Update: Michael Clemente Fox News Executive Vice President of News responded to the Mayor's comments by saying, “We empathize with the citizens of France as they go through a healing process and return to everyday life. However, we find the Mayor’s comments regarding a lawsuit misplaced."

ISIS Plans 24 Hour TV Channel - Possible Show Ideas

Word is that the Islamic State (ISIS) has a 24-hour television channel in the works.

This would be the next step in the terrorist organization's propaganda war. ISIS has utilized both Twitter and YouTube, as well as Iraqi radio bandwidth, to spread its message and try and gain support.

Now, ISIS is looking to move on a 24 hour TV channel.

Filling 24 hours with hate messages is not going to be easy, so FTVLive has thought up some shows that ISIS could do in between their messages of hate:

"The Situation Bunker"

"Morning Express with Habib"

"The Big Bang Theory" Sponsored by the U.S Air Force and their Bombs

"Imam in the Morning"

"NISIS - Los Angelas"

"Real Housewives of Damascus"

"My Favorite Muslim"

"MediaBuzz with Howard Kurtz"

Coming out Swinging at Rev. Al Sharpton

Larry Wilmore's new Comedy Central show "The Nightly Report" hit the air last night as a replacement for the Colbert Report.

Wilmore, started off with,  "A brother finally gets a show on late night TV, but, of course, he has to work on Martin Luther King Day."

He also went at MSNBC's Al Sharpton: "Al, slow down man. You don't have to respond to every black emergency. You're not black Batman."

And he took a swing at the Oscars: "A very powerful motion picture was snubbed. This film's message is as poignant today as it was when I was a kid," he said, as he prepared to dress down the Academy Awards and its snub of black talent in this year's nomination.....  How did the "Lego Movie" movie not get nominated for best picture?"

Wilmore is is trying to carve is own nitch and not be another Colbert. He appears to be off to a very good start.

Although, Al Sharpton might disagree.

Texas Weatherman Returns to the Air After Being Shot

A month after being gun downed in the station's parking lot, KCEN Meteorologist Patrick Crawford returned to air.

Crawford was up early to do the weather for Early Texas Today at 4:30 a.m. forecasting the warm conditions.

"I timed my comeback very nicely with today's forecast," he joked. "We've got great weather today. We can expect the warm weather we saw over the weekend to return again today."

In the 6 a.m. hour, members of the Texas Today crew surprised Patrick with Superman t-shirts in support of him. On the front of the t-shirts there was the Superman logo, but on the back, wording stated "Crawford Strong."

And while his coworkers surprised him with the Superman shirts, he had a little surprise of his own. He showed that underneath his suit, he too was wearing a Superman shirt in true Clark Kent fashion.

No word when DC Comics will be filing a cease and desist against the station for the shirts.

Also, no word if the man that gun down Crawaford was also watching, he's still on the loose and the $20,000 reward ramins for his arrest.

New Orleans Station to Name New Anchor (Updated)

Sources tell FTVLive that WDSU (New Orleans) is this/close to naming Adrianna Hopkins their new Anchor at the station.

Hopkins has spent the past 3 years at WSVN in Miami and is now headed to the Big Easy. Prior to to SoFlo, Hopkins was the Weekend Anchor at WHAS 11 in Louisville.

WDSU is expected to announce her hire as Anchor some time this week.

Until then it is a secret, so don't tell anybody.

OK?

Update: WDSU finally made the announcement this afternoon, which means you will now see the story on the other TV websites. Although FTVLive FIRST gave you the news7 hours ago.

“Adrianna’s background is ideal for New Orleans,” said WDSU News Director Jonathan Shelley in the station's press release. “She’s skilled and experienced at bringing home the big story, and as everyone knows, we have plenty of those here in NOLA. We’re excited to have her join our team.”
