Really NBC?

It is not unusual for TV networks and local station to give gear to their on air talent to wear on air. You often see logos on hats, shirts and jackets....but, how about fishing wadders?

FTVLive noticed that night on NBC Nightly News when Correspondent John Yang was reporting on the midwest flooding, he was sporting some fishing wadders with the NBC News logo.

Really?! When will it end?

So far the NBC logo fishing wadders are not offered in the NBC store.

But, you never know, they might be soon.

HLN Taking Over CNN's Space in Atlanta

Sources are telling FTVLive about more changes at CNN's "World Headquarters" in Atlanta.

Insiders say that all of the CNN domestic work space is being turned over to HLN including the new, just opened, state-of-the-art studio 7.

That was the studio where all CNN's Atlanta programming used to come out of. Now, it will be used exclusively for HLN.

Meanwhile, CNN will get HLN's former and much smaller studio and workspace. As FTVLive FIRST reported, CNN boss Jeff Zucker moved the Atlanta based shows, talent and most of the managers to New York.

Atlanta has basically just become a shell for CNN. "Zucker continues to say one thing but do another," says one CNN staffer to FTVLive.

Ax Swings at The View

A big shake is going down at 'The View'.

Word is that both Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy have been pink-slipped  as hosts of the ABC daytime talk show.

Insiders say that the show's Executive Producer Bill Geddie is likely to be pushed out as well.

"'The View' will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively," ABC said in a statement.

"It's been seven wonderful years on 'The View' and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie for giving me the opportunity. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey," Shepherd said in a statement.

Jenny McCarthy tweeted late last night, "If Sherri goes... I go too. #sisters" and "My View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year."

McCarthy made it sound like she left on her own accord, she did not.

Whoopi Goldberg will remain on the panel.

TMZ reports that potential replacements include Ross Matthews and Jesse Palmer.

Stay tuned....

NBC News Kills Off Missing Child on Twitter

Earlier FTVLive told you about the missing boy that was found ALIVE in his father's Detroit basement.

NBC News killed off the poor child.

The network sent out a tweet saying that the boy was found dead in his Dad's basement.

Needless to say, this news was quite shocking to the boy.

NBC says they corrected the mistake (posted above) shortly after they tweeted the kid was found dead.

He's Done in Denver

He's Done in Denver

After 34 years, KUSA Senior Producer Jack Maher has worked his last day at the station.

Why leave?

"I've taken this morning show as far as I could. It's time for a new generation to take over, as I head off to a new gig as a multimedia guy with Jefferson County Schools. No more midnight alarms. Won't miss that. But I will miss all my great colleagues at 9NEWS....," Maher said.

The station gave him a send off on this morning's newscast. It's up after the jump.

Will Cox End the Dancing at Fox Boston?

We have showed you time and time again that TV news people can't dance, but that sure as hell doesn't stop them from trying.

Fox Boston Anchors and Reporters were dancing on the morning show. But, something tells me that when Cox takes over the station, the dancing will likely stop.

Cox generally likes to just stick to news during a newscast.

I know, I know, it's a novel idea.

Fox Stations Beef Up News at the O&O's

The Fox O&O stations are going to expand their news presence in Los Angeles; Philadelphia; Washington; Atlanta; Minneapolis; Phoenix; Charlotte, N.C.; Memphis; and Austin, Texas.

The stations are adding newscasts in different time periods. Some stations are adding or expanding weekend newscasts, while other station are tacking on more news during the week.

The expansion has already started in some markets and will wrap up in early september, when KMSP in Minneapolis adds at 6PM newscast.

“Uninformed critics say big companies are cutting local news,” Fox Television Stations CEO Jack Abernethy said in a statement. “However, the opposite is true at FOX. We are expanding in a big way.”

Not sure who those critics are that Abernethy is talking about? It seems like most local stations have been in news expansion mode for quite some time.
