Matt Lauer: Katie Couric is a 9 or 10

Screen Shot 2013-06-20 at 6.48.19 AM.png

Matt Lauer's rebuild his reputation tour continued with a stop on the Howard Sten Show.

Lauer talked about a number of topics, including his former co-anchors.

Well not Ann Curry.

But, Lauer did talk about sitting on the couch next to Meredith Vieira and his first co-anchor Katie Couric.

"It's like the St. Pauli Girl commercial: You always remember your first," Lauer said of Couric, who was his co-anchor from 1994 to 2006.

And it seems that Matt thought Katie was a hottie.

"I think...every man in America was attracted [to Katie Couric]," he teased. "She's a very attractive woman, not only physically, but her personality...if she's a 9 or 10 physically, she's a 14 because -- I hate to do that -- because she's got a great personality. She's fun."

That said, Lauer insists he never seriously considered pursuing anything romantic with her. It "absolutely" would have ruined things, he explained. Then, joking, he added, "She would have been knocking on my door constantly. She would have never left me alone."

You wish Matt, you wish.....

Under his new deal Abrams now becomes Nightline Anchor and Chief Legal Affairs Anchor for ABC News.

"In his new role Dan will continue his regular legal segments on Good Morning America, show us a whole new side of his talents with a new branded GMA segment on a wide range of topics, and join the other Nightline anchors on ABC’s The Lookout." ABC Boss Ben Sherwood said in a memo to the staff.

Struggling Buffalo Station to Blow Up Morning Show

Struggling Buffalo Station to Blow Up Morning Show

WKBW in Buffalo is in the process of blowing up their morning show.

It is unlikely that this will piss off many viewers, since they don't have many viewers.

Word is that Anchor Ginger Geoffery (pictured) is going to be exiting "Eyewitness News This Morning" soon.

Her co-anchor Patrick Taney is bolting the station next month for the Rochester market.

The moves are being made by incoming General Manager Mike Nurse, who officially takes over for inapt outgoing GM Bill Ransom in less than two weeks.

Nurse had to decide whether to retain Geoffery, who has been at the station for almost nine years. Her contract is believed to expire in a few months. She also anchors the station's low-rated noon newscast.

Americans Don't Trust TV News

Americans Don't Trust TV News

The good news is more Americans trust TV news this year than they did last year.

The bad news, it's only 23 percent of Americans that trust TV news. Last year that number stood at 21 percent, so at least TV news is moving in a positive direction.

In the new Gallup poll the only institutions television news and newspapers beat out this year are big business, organized labor, health maintenance organizations and Congress.

Americans expressed the most confidence in the military, at 76 percent, and small businesses, at 65 percent.

Gallup attributed the drop in confidence to a number of factors... find out which ones after the leap.

A New Day Out of the Blocks 4th in the Demo

Screen Shot 2013-06-19 at 6.10.25 AM.png

CNN's morning show a New Day hasn't exactly fired out of the blocks.

Despite spending big bucks in promotion the show, New Day finished 4th in the demo and 3rd in total viewers.

The show pulled in 247,000 in total viewers and 95,000 in the demo. Those numbers are down from CNN's morning show last Monday.

Word is that CNN head Jeff Zucker is "fine" with the first day numbers, but you know in reality, he has to be a bit disappointed.

They spent a ton on promotion and you would have expected the first day numbers to be higher.

Is There Anyone Else Here?!

Is There Anyone Else Here?!

You have to feel for WAGA (Atlanta) Anchor Buck Lanford.

He was filling in on the Noon show and it appears the show's usual anchor Lisa Rayam picked a good day to take off.

Old Buck was left dangling after the show melted down. Buck did remind about 50 times that we were watching the Noon show.

He was tossing to all kinds of things that weren't there and finally he throws it to Reporter Paul Yates who was covering a murder trial.

For a bit it looked like Paul wasn't going to be there, but finally he made an appearance. You can bet Buck was happy as hell to see Paul or he might have had to tell us that we were watching Fox 5 at Noon....again.

Weatherman's Fight with Wife was over Parked Cars

Weatherman's Fight with Wife was over Parked Cars

According to court papers, a tiff over moving parked cars sparked the stormy brawl between WABC weatherman Bill Evans and his wife.

The meteorologist and soon-to-be divorced wife Dana Evans gave police wildly conflicting versions of the violent, auto-moving throw down on the night of May 4.

Dana Evans, 48, said she wanted to move cars outside their Old Greenwich driveway, so they could both leave on time the next morning.

She went into the couple’s master bedroom and asked for her hubby for car keys, but Bill Evans refused to give them up, according to an affidavit by Greenwich police officer Kristin Lindstrom, summarizing Dana Evans’ version of events.

The wife then tried to get the keys herself and Bill Evans “grabbed her by the left hand at which time she attempted to throw the keys across the room and out the door,” Lindstrom’s report showed.

“That the keys landed in the closet and they both attempted to reach the keys first.”

Bill Evans’ version of the parking brawl was remarkably different, saying his aggressive wife was the aggressor.

Want to get on the Today Show? Here's how...

Screen Shot 2013-06-18 at 8.26.36 AM.png

So you have always wanted to get on the Today Show.

You want to sit on the couch with Al, Natalie, Matt and Ann....errrrr... Savannah.

We're going to give you the secret to land a segment on Today.

Fuck up.

That's the secret to get on the Today Show.

This morning, the Today Show had on as a guest Miss Utah Marissa Powell. Powell is a 21 year old that can't string together a coherent sentence and was seen mumbling and stumbling at the Miss USA pageant.

Many other Miss USA contestants were able to answer the question asked of them with some intelligence....but you won't see them on the Today Show.

Many of you are news anchors and do a very good job of delivering the news. Yet, you have not been asked to join Matt Lauer on the couch at Today.

But, A.J. Clemente landed a segment on the Today Show after anchoring just one newscast. He started the newscast with the words "fuck'n shit" and the next thing you know, he's gabbing with Matt and the rest of the gang on NBC's morning show.

So, if you're looking to land on Today, stop doing your job well and start screwing up. That could get you a spot next to Matt, Nat, Al and Savannah.

Don't you just love TV?
