Bumped Down the Food Chain in DC

Anchor Andrea Roane has been with WUSA in DC for almost 35 years.

Insiders tell FTVLive that she has been working for a longtime without a contract. Now, word is that they have given her a new deal, but it a demotion as well.

Sources tell FTVLive that Roane, who had been anchoring the morning show is being pulled from that show and will now only anchor the station's noon newscast. Insiders say, she also had to take a pay cut at the Tegna station.

"She (Roane) has weathered many storms in that den of journalistic iniquity, and come out still smiling with nary a complaint, publicly anyway," said one insider to FTVLive.

Some think the station will continue is way of hiring younger and cheaper, to continue to increase the bottomline for owner Tegna.
