Anyone who has ever worked morning news knows the drill: 2:00 AM alarms, gallons of coffee, and a sleep schedule that slowly destroys your sanity.

Now, a veteran Las Vegas anchor is stepping away from the desk to hit the reset button.

Kim Wagner, longtime morning anchor at Sinclair-owned KSNV (News 3) in Las Vegas, has been taking a hiatus from the morning broadcasts for health reasons.

Wagner acknowledged the brutal reality facing AM newsers everywhere, noting that the unforgiving hours "can take a toll."

Working early mornings in television is tough enough in any market. But doing it in a 24-hour party town like Las Vegas—at a station owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, no less—is a special kind of grind.
