Two and Out in Hartford
/WTIC Reporter Jamel Johnson is leaving the Tegna station in Hartford, after just two years.
While he is leaving the station, he’s not leaving the Tegna family tree.
Johnson, a Georgia native is headed back to the Peach state and will be working at Tegna’s WXIA in Atlanta.
"Thank you for welcoming this Georgia boy to New England," he wrote on social media, "Those two years were truly a memorable experience for my career."
Johnson pointed out that returning to his hometown was "always the goal”.
"Fast forward to today and I’m back in the city I grew up in connecting with the community I love" he added.
