Scripps has completed its purchase of WTVQ, from Morris Media, giving the company control of both WLEX and WTVQ in the Lexington market.

One market insider told FTVLive on Tuesday morning that so far, “WLEX has simulcasted all of their newscasts on WTVQ 36.”

Also, if you look at the WTVQ website we noticed that the only new story (the screenshot was taken around Noon on Tuesday) was a single story that came from the Associated Press. All the other stories on the front page, came from the day before.

If we wanted to bet, our guess is that more Scripps cuts are coming as the company combines the stations.

Employees will lose their jobs and the viewers will lose another outlet for news, as the operations are combined into on.
