Out The Door in Houston
/There is another shakeup happening in Market #8.
Longtime KTRK reporter and anchor Charly Edsitty is packing up her gear and leaving Disney’s Houston O&O after eight years at the station.
According to an internal memo sent to the newsroom, Edsitty’s final day on air at the ABC affiliate will be in late September.
Edsitty joined ABC13 back in 2018 as a morning reporter, grinding out early-morning live shots on the streets of Houston before transitioning to anchor duties on the station’s digital streaming newscasts (ABC13+). Along the way, she racked up industry honors, including a Gracie Award in 2025.
Prior to landing in Houston, Edsitty cut her teeth at KSL in Salt Lake City and worked at KPNX in Phoenix.
No word yet on where Edsitty is headed next or whether she plans to stay in the TV news business, head to another shop across the street, or join the growing list of journalists pulling the ripcord on local news entirely to jump into PR or some other similar role.
Stay tuned.
