From CBS to the CW

In a Patron Only story, FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that Nexstar’s WJTV (Jackson) would be losing its CBS affiliation.

Now, WJTV is telling viewers that they will now become a CW affiliate. While Nexstar owns the CW, many viewers don’t even know what it is.

WJTV is changing its logo to drop the CBS Eye and is claiming to be beefing up the news operation. “Our viewers can expect more local news, more community-focused content…” WJTV says on its website.

But, station insiders tell FTVLive that WJTV is looking at possible cuts in the newsroom. So, while the station may offer up more news programming, it may be with fewer people working in the newsroom.

As FTVLive told you, Hearst-owned WJTV will be picking up the CBS affiliation and airing it on its sub-channel. Here is how they announced the news to viewers.
