Yesterday, FTVLive FIRST told you about cuts going down at Altice’s News 12.

We told you that the cuts appeared to be centered on News 12 CT and News 12 Bronx.

But, an insider tells FTVLive that the cuts are even deeper. “They are virtually eliminating the newsrooms in Westchester, Bronx/Brooklyn, and CT. Nearly everyone was let go, including multiple people with 20+ years with the company and lots of Emmys,” the source tells FTVLive, adding, “All that’s left is a skeleton crew of reporters and photographers.”

Word is that the company is scrapping newscasts for those regions in favor of a regional newscast with short local inserts.

It is expected that the cut-ins will only feature a few stories from those impacted areas.

This is a far cry from a company that built its whole audience on “hyper local” coverage.
