I'm Leaving on My Own

Yesterday, FTVLive told you that Nexstar’s WFLA, popular morning Anchor Avery Cotton announced that she is leaving the station.

We pointed out that Nexstar has been not renewing, or lowballing some longtime talent in an effort to cut costs.

In our story, we said that we didn’t know if that was the case with Cotton.

Cotton emailed FTVLive to say “I can confirm I’m leaving on my own accord. It’s time to be more intentional with my kiddos.”

Cotton also did not like the screenshot we used of her and passed along this picture, and said, “Here’s one of my favorite pictures you’re welcome to use.”

FTVLive did edit the photo to cover Cotton’s kids faces. We don’t believe that children should be plastered on the internet, until they are old enough to make that call themselves.
