Swing and a Miss

It seems that we have been pointing out a number of mistake recently from WPVI, the powerhouse ABC O&O in Philly.

The latest mistake is the fact that WPVI listed the team the Major League Phillies were playing as the “Oakland Athletics.”

It should be pointed out that since the 2025 season, the team is officially known simply as the Athletics (or the A’s).

They dropped the "Oakland" city name following their move from the Oakland to Sacramento, where they are playing temporarily before a planned permanent move to Las Vegas by 2028.

This is the team’s logo for the past two years.
