Nexstar announced that they were going to beef up their News Nation streaming service by offering a number of new podcasts.

How’s it going so far?

Well, News Nation host Batya Ungar-Sargon's pod called Prove It!, which launched in April, had just 91 viewers tuned into the live stream last week.

More people did watch later on demand, but the live stream was basically void of viewers.

If the live viewership is that low, why not just pre-record the podcast? That way you can refine it and add elements in editing.

Nexstar’s “digital first” movement is clearly not attracting an audience.

It might be time to head back to the drawing board.
