NEXSTAR SUED BY FORMER INDIANA DIGITAL MANAGER
/A former digital media manager for Nexstar Broadcasting in Indiana is taking his former employer to court.
Ivan Paramanandam has filed a civil rights and employment lawsuit against Nexstar Media Inc. and Timothy Sanders in an Indiana federal court.
Sanders is the general manager of Nexstar’s broadcast and digital operations in Terre Haute, Indiana.
The lawsuit, which was originally filed in state court in Sullivan County, Indiana, was officially kicked up to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana by Nexstar’s legal team.
According to court documents, Paramanandam is bringing the suit under Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act, alleging violations tied to employment discrimination.
Paramanandam previously oversaw digital operations and content strategy for Nexstar properties in the region.
Nexstar, as you know, is the largest local television broadcasting company in the United States and isn't exactly a stranger to the courtroom when it comes to employment disputes.
Neither side has publicly commented on the pending litigation. Nexstar's defense team has already filed their initial appearances and disclosure statements.
As always, stay tuned.
