AI Doesn't Fly in Seattle

Sources at Fox O&O KCPQ (Seattle) tell FTVLive that the station’s Managing Editor has been telling employees to use AI.

“She’s been telling the staff that we can have people who aren’t fluent in Spanish anchor the Spanish newscasts just by using AI TO TRanslate from English to Spanish,” said an insider, adding, “We’ve pushed back because it’s ridiculous to assume AI could do what a bilingual person does.”

The source says they are also using AI to create graphics. This was one of the graphics the station used and as you can see, there are issues.

“We want to be a credible organization but one person’s push to force us to use AI is hindering all of that,” said the insider, adding, “This is sadly the way journalism is going now”.
