Byron Allen has closed on his deal to buy the majority of the struggling website Buzzfeed.

But, Allen says he has a plan and that his new acquisition is now going to take on YouTube.

“Our vision is to build on the iconic foundation of BuzzFeed and HuffPost by expanding into free-streaming video, audio and user-generated content,” said Allen.“As of this moment, with the power of AI, BuzzFeed is officially chasing YouTube to become another premier free-streaming video service.”

Allen chasing YouTube would be akin to a little league baseball team chasing the LA Dodgers.

Maybe Allen should think about taking on MySpace and not YouTube.
