Charges Filed Against OKC Chief Photographer

This is a follow up to a story you saw here on FTVLive...

The Oklahoma County District Attorney has officially filed 21 felony counts against former News 9 Chief Photographer Darrell Vannostran. The charges stem from the Peeping Tom investigation we first brought to you just over a month ago.

According to newly released court documents, the award-winning former photojournalist is accused of hiding cameras inside dressing rooms at KWTV to record his coworkers in various stages of undress.

Investigators have reviewed more than 2,000 recordings recovered from the hidden cameras and have successfully identified seven distinct victims.

While the court affidavit protects the identities of the victims by listing them only by their initials, the formal documentation meticulously breaks down the 21 charges by date and individual:

  • One victim was recorded on six separate occasions.

  • Two other victims were caught on camera four times each.

Vannostran is facing severe legal consequences for the alleged surveillance. If convicted on all counts, he faces up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine for each individual charge.

We will continue to follow this story as it makes its way through the Oklahoma court system.
