/Many of you are weighing in on the Nexstar/Tegna deal. Here is just some of what FTVLive has received.
Email:
I for one, am happy to see the demise of Tegna. Horrible company and even more horrible were the people who ran it. They were incompetent bunglers who couldn’t get away from their own mess. Tegna managers believed social media was going to save local journalism, when in fact, it only helped destroy it.
Dave Lougee was the court jester in charge of the kingdom. He helped ruin Tegna and lit the torch that burned down the former Belo stations.
Tegna is gone and I’m happy it is. I do feel badly for the good people now working for the Death-Star. Hopefully Perry and his merry band of mayhem will leave the good people alone.
Email:
Nexstar's Uncle Perry and his side kick, President of Broadcast, Andy Alford need to be called out. Why? They are monsters. It's not that they are trimming jobs. They are cutting people off and providing them with no resources, and no time to find other opportunities. I suppose corporations have every right to adjust their work forces. But to toss tenured, loyal employees out the door with out any help, is just plain cruel. Sook and Alford are nothing more than inhuman trash in nice suits.
Email:
I am one of the luck ones as I left my Tegna station two months ago. I’m not sure what the future for Tegna employees entails, but the industry as a whole is headed the wrong direction.
It’s all about the money and employees, whether working for Tegna or Nexstar are all looked at as a disposable asset.
