FCC Threatens TV Stations Over Iran Coverage
/Look at the websites of local TV stations, and you will be hard-pressed to find any coverage of the war in Iran.
Over the weekend, I looked at a dozen local TV station websites, and only one of those had any mention of the Iran war on the front page.
Maybe that’s because FCC chair Brandon Carr is threatening to yank broadcast licenses of stations unless they agree to make their coverage of Trump’s war more positive. Carr posted on social media that broadcasters running “fake news” have a chance now to correct course before their license renewals come up. The law is clear. Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not.
I’m sorry, but the federal government telling news stations to provide favorable coverage of the war or their licenses will be pulled is shocking.
We aren't on the verge of a totalitarian takeover. WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF IT.
Wake up!
It’s sad when people in Congress have a bigger backbone than the media companies.
