Resurfacing By the Bay
/Nancy Chen was working as a Reporter at CBS News, when she suddenly found herself a victim of the CBS cuts.
After 6 years at CBS, Chen did not spend much time on the beach after being laid off.
Starting next month, she is resurfacing at ABC O&O KGO in San Francisco.
Here is the internal email that went out to the staff and was obtained by FTVLive.

Subject: Nancy Chen joining ABC7
News Team:
I am excited to announce Nancy Chen is joining ABC7 Eyewitness News as morning co-anchor. Nancy is joining us after six years as a CBS News correspondent based in New York.
Nancy has local news experience at WJLA-TV in Washington, DC, where she was a weekday anchor, and WHDH-TV in Boston, where she was a weekend anchor and weekday reporter. The Boston Marathon bombing is among the many big national stories she has covered, along with assignments at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and Sochi, Russia.
Nancy is looking forward to returning to California- she worked at KSBY-TV in San Luis Obispo/Santa Barbara early in her career. Plus, she is returning to the ABC OTV family! Nancy worked as a web producer at KABC from 2008 to 2009. Nancy graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in international relations. She also studied Chinese at Peking University in Beijing.
Many of you met Nancy when she visited KGO in December and we were all struck by her warmth and energy. I know she will be a great addition to our morning team with Amanda and Drew on-air and our terrific behind-the-scenes production team.
Nancy and her husband Patrick will be moving to the Bay Area soon.
Please join me in welcoming Nancy to our team when she joins us on March 2nd.
Tracey
