Signing Off in Tampa

It’s not going to happen for a while.

But, longtime anchor Stacie Schaible has announced that she will leave WFLA in January. Her departure concludes a 26-year career at the station and 36 years in the television news industry.

Schaible has been a prominent fixture at the Tampa, Florida station, anchoring the evening news and leading the "8 On Your Side" consumer investigative unit. During her more than two decades with the network, she also spearheaded regional fundraising campaigns for the American Heart Association and helped launch the station's "First at 4" newscast.

WFLA is owned by Nexstar Media Group. Station management has not yet announced a replacement for Schaible ahead of her final broadcast.
