Another Nexstar Anchor Calls it Quits
/After more than 43 years on the air in Buffalo, WIVB meteorologist Mike Cejka is hanging up his forecasting tools.
Cejka, widely believed to hold the record for the longest full-time run in Buffalo local television history, made the retirement announcement Monday morning on the Nexstar CBS affiliate's morning show, Wake Up!. His final broadcast is set for this Friday.
"I’ve been so blessed working at something I’m so passionate about," Cejka told viewers.
With Cejka's departure, the morning shift is getting a shakeup. Mike Doyle is stepping in to take over the morning program role. Meanwhile, familiar face Andrew Baglini is returning to the station full-time to handle weather duties after previously filling in. Baglini originally spent seven years at WIVB before departing in 2021, a stint that included fill-in work at rival at Tegna’s WGRZ.
