This is Costing Me Thousands of Dollars...

FTVLive made a change that will cost me thousands of dollars each month.

Some of you have reached out about the popup ads on the site. I have been a Google AdSense partner for years, and a bulk of the income that FTVLive makes comes from Google ads.

FTVLive was also part of Google Labs, which meant that Google could experiment with how ads are displayed on FTVLive. Those experiments are what brought many of the popup and slide ads to the website.

It also brought in a good deal of money.

But as of now, I have turned off the feature that displays those ads. I made this move at the end of last week, and my revenue dropped dramatically.

FTVLive has never been driven by money. As I have told you guys in the past, there is not a week that goes by that I am not presented with an offer to place sponsored content on FTVLive. This would be easy money, but it is a road that I am not willing to go down.

While many companies will do just about anything for a buck, that is not what drives me. But at the same time, I need money to live in today’s economy.

So what can you do to help? It’s simple, become an FTVLive Patron.

As I have hinted in the past, FTVLive has kept the Patron price the same for over a decade. But like everything else, it might be time to raise the price of a Patron Membership. That money will be used to offset the money I have lost from Google Ads.
