Tegna Boss Resurfaces
/If you’re wondering whatever happened to Tegna VP Adrienne Roark, she has just resurfaced.
Roark was signed on as Tegna’s VP of News when under Mike Steib. Steib knew nothing about TV news and hired Roark, who then turned around and hired her friends for high-dollar jobs at Tegna.
When Tegna hired a new CEO, Roark was soon gone from the company.
Now, she has lined another media job, well, sort of.
Roark took to social media to announce that she is now a special adviser to Genna.
What is Genna?
Well, it’s an AI company that wants to help trim the staffs at TV stations.
Genna creates Automated Video Production, which converts articles, editorial content, and data feeds into broadcast-ready video and audio clips in under 5 minutes.
In other words, newsrooms can lay off people and save money using their product. I’m guessing if you see Roark walking around your newsroom, layoffs might not be far behind.
