The ABC Hammer

I heard this from more than a few people, but I could not confirm the news.

When it came to Nexstar and Sinclair puffing out their chest, to try and suck up to Donald Trump, by preempting Jimmy Kimmel, ABC had a huge hammer.

The story goes that ABC told both Nexstar and Sinclair that they could keep Kimmel off the air for as long as they wanted to.

But, in the meantime, while they continue to preempt Kimmel, their ABC stations could not air any college or NFL football games.

Imagine the phone lines at Sinclair and Nexstar stations when there was no Monday Night Football.

Like we said, we could not confirm this story, but if that was the case, ABC just savaged Nexstar and Sinclair in a single move.

It does make sense, because why would both companies cave on a Friday and not let it go through the weekend?

A lot of football was played over the weekend.
