FTVLive Lead the Way on Nexstar/Tegna

FTVLive was the FIRST to report that Nexstar was looking at buying Tegna. In a Patron Only Story posted on August 4th, FTVLive told you that Nexstar was kicking the tires on Tegna and was an interested buyer.

On Friday, the Wall Street Journal reported in what they billed as “exclusive”, despite the fact that FTVLive had the story 5 days earlier, that Nexstar was in advanced talks to purchase Tegna.

Also, in a Patron Only Story, FTVLive told you that Nexstar CEO, Perry Sook is headed to Sacramento to visit KTXL, the station owned by Nexstar.

Sook is visiting the station August 19th and it should also be pointed out that Tegna owns KXTV in the Sacramento market. Look for those two stations to be combined when Nexstar buys Tegna.

Don’t be surprised if the deal is announced as early as this week.
