Ridiculous
/I’m going to be completely honest with you, up until a few days ago, I had no clue who Sydney Sweeney was.
I was walking through The Florida Mall in Orlando and I walked about an American Eagle story and saw a giant poster in the window that said, “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.”
I noticed the add, which I think is the goal, but I did not know who Sydney Sweeney was. I pointed the ad out to me friend that was walking with me, and she said that Sweeney was on some TV show that I never heard of.
After that I moved on and didn’t think anything about it.
Then the next day, I see a story on Drudge about how Sweeney’s ad at American Eagle is some kind on Nazi propaganda, or something like that. I would have never even noticed the story on Drudge, if I hadn’t seen the ad in the mall a day earlier.
And then, I saw Julie Banderas talking about it on Fox News.
I have to agree with Banderas’s take and I will say, when I saw the ad in the wild, I never thought about Nazis.
It was an ad, not much different than Brooke Shields Calvin Kline ad in the 1980’s. Some people really do need to dial it back a bit.
Just saying…
The segment from Fox News.
