CBS Starts Offering Up Buyouts

Earlier this week, FTVLive told you that CBS was looking to make yet more cuts to their staff.

At the O&Os, they are trying to get longtime (I.e. higher paid) staffers to accept buyouts.

The company is offering two weeks of severance pay for each year of service, up to 64 weeks total.

We’re told that the buyouts have been offered and those that received one has two weeks to accept the offer.

If the buyout is accepted, the employee will work through July and into August before leaving the station.

Depending on how many take the buyout, that will help determine how many people will need to be cut.
