Sinclair Station Let's Racist Comment Slide
/Sinclair’s KOMO in Seattle is back to allowing comments on stories posted to their website.
There was a point when the comment section was turned off by KOMO as it was a cesspool of anonymous and vile comments, much like Twitter.
But, when you turn off comments, you see a dip in traffic, so KOMO turned the comments back on.
Last week, the station did a story about a child allegedly murdered by a parent and a commenter posted a straight up racist comment.
While the comment was tagged, saying, “This comment violated our policy” it still remains up on the KOMO website.
If it violates policy, why wasn’t the comment pulled? I’m pretty sure the racist that posted it really doesn’t care about your policy.
Is KOMO leaving the comment to get more clicks?
