Oh Tegna...

FTVLive has been telling you about the ongoing problems and issues with Tegna’s WTIC in Hartford.

The station has been getting rid of talent people and filling some of those positions with inexperience and inexpensive hires.

a couple of weeks ago, the Tegna station hired Joe Monte as an MMJ.

Monte just graduated from Quinnipiac University less than a year ago. He was working as a Photographer and Editor at another Hartford station, before Tegna gave him the reporting job.

“I'm all for giving people a chance, but what does it say about the station when someone - with no professional reporting chops - can just walk in and become a reporter in a top 50 market...are they that desperate?” asked one Hartford insider, adding, "Here, you worked as a photog in the market for almost a year, come report and be on-air for us!"

So a kid, in his second job, just out of school, lands a on air job in Hartford.
