Influencer or Journalist?
/When Cox’s WFXT (Boston) hired Elly Morillo, News Director Scott Isaacs sent an internal email to the staff, saying how impressed he was with her “creativity and tenacity,” and pointed out that the staff could learn a few things from her.
Morillo proceeded to make an Instagram video in which she pimped the moving company that would be moving her crap to Boston. She even included a discount code of “elly10” for her viewers to save 10% on their move.
This was nothing more than an ad, and it’s clear that Morillo doesn’t understand that is not something a Journalist does.
I’m not sure how much the WFXT staff can learn from her, but if I was Scott Isaacs, I would have told her to turn the moving van around and had back to where she was coming from.
This is why people don’t trust the media.
