Scripps to Sell WCPO's Building

As Scripps continues to try and scrounge up money to pay off their debt, they are putting WCPO up for sale.

Not the station, but the building that WCPO is based in.

Scripps has done the same thing with a number of their stations, trying to sell the building and then leasing it back.

Scripps had the building assessed at $7.9 million a couple of years ago, which is down from the $9.6 million it was pegged at in 2020.

Some people question why you would sell a building and then become a renter?

For Scripps it is likely grab the money now, and then when they sell the company, the new owner will have to make the lease payments.

For the past few years, Scripps has never really looked at the longterm.
