Chip Emerging Talent Leader has worked at Scripps for the past 16 years. He has held a number of jobs with the company.

He was the News Director at Scripps flagship station, WCPO in Cincy. For nearly the past 6 years, he has been the “Emerging Talent Leader” for Scripps. And, while I have no idea what the Emerging Talent Leader does, he was a big cheerleader for the company.

Despite all the crap and the terrible job that Scripps brass was doing, Mahaney always had the company’s back. Sometimes, I would feel he would go overboard, preaching about how great Scripps was.

But, if you have a company, this is the guy you want on your staff, representing the company and staying positive.

Despite all that, Scripps decided yesterday to kick Chip Mahaney to the curb. Just like so many others at Scripps, his job has been eliminated.

He posted about getting ousted at Scripps and is now looking for work.
