Scripps-owned KTNV has a job opening for an “Executive Reporter”. The job posting says,”The ideal candidate is an experienced reporter or anchor with a desire to transition into a management position.”
A few of the job responsibilities listed.
The Executive Reporter will lead the team in enhancing storytelling through a collective effort of reporters
We are looking for a strong coach, teacher, and mentor to help develop our team into skilled journalists and accomplished storytellers
Lead, develop, and enhance the storytelling skills and abilities of all reporters and MMJs in the station.
Evaluate that all content adheres to journalistic standards and ethical guidelines.
First, in a market the size of Las Vegas, I would hope that KTNV would have hired “skilled journalists and accomplished storytellers” and not have to train them.
Also, what does the News Director, Assistant ND, the Managing Editor, and the EPs do?
