From Inside KRON

The other day, FTVLive told you that Nexstar’s KRON (San Francisco) had made cost-saving cuts. We reported that Nexstar sacked people in the engineering department.

We got an email from an insider who confirms that and thinks we haven’t heard the last on these layoffs.

Here’s a portion of the email:

So not only did KRON layoff 5 people from the engineering department.  All of them were over the age of 50.  With one exception and that one person chose to leave and was not laid off.  The worst part about Nexstar is that they have such inexperienced managers that they're stupid enough to do what they just did which is almost a guarantee that the union in SF will file an age discrimination grievance against them.  And they'd be right to do it and they should win a large settlement.  KRON pushed all of the experienced people out and kept the never had a job before crowd who came in for minimal money and who make so many mistakes on air it's almost hard to quantify it.  Wrong supers, wild camera moves, missed cues, constant sound problems and mics clipped.  Any college station could do better.
