Jack of All Trades, Master of None

I’m sorry but I think when stations do this, it just makes them look so damn cheap.

Teagna’s WRGZ (Buffalo) had put off hiring a new sports Reporter/Anchor after Lindsey Moppert left the station nearly a year ago.

Now, they have finally hired Nate Mills straight out of Arizona State University. While there was a time a market the size of Buffalo would not hire someone fresh out of school, the times have changed.

That isn’t the part that makes WGRZ look cheap, although I’m sure Mills is not getting paid all that much.

The fact that along with doing sports, the Tegna station will also have him reporting news for the station.

So the same guy you see at the local high school football game on Saturday, might be reporting on a double murder on Sunday. It almost feels like someone is “playing” TV and that looks cheap.

But, then again, it’s Tegna.
