Bumped Up in the Burgh

In a move that champions long-term loyalty and institutional knowledge, CBS's owned and operated station in Pittsburgh, KDKA-TV, has promoted Cathy Noschese to the role of news director.

Noschese is a true veteran of the station, having worked at KDKA for three decades. She began her career there as a station intern in 1986 and steadily rose through the ranks, holding positions as a production assistant, writer, producer, executive producer, managing editor, and most recently, assistant news director.

The promotion fills the vacancy left by Shawn Hoder, who departed nearly two months ago to become the news director at CBS's affiliate in Atlanta.

In announcing the promotion, KDKA General Manager Julie Eisenman highlighted Noschese’s decades of experience. Noschese was unavailable for an interview.
