ABC News Kisses the Ring and Pays Up

Donald Trump filed defamation lawsuit against ABC News and host George Stephanopoulos, for what he claimed was inaccurate on-air assertion that the president-elect had been found civilly liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll.

When Trump filed the lawsuit, ABC said they would vigorously defend themselves against the suit.

Well, I’m not sure how vigorous this is, but ABC has has agreed to pay $15 million toward Trump’s presidential library to settle a defamation case.

Also, ABC News also posted a note to their website expressing regret over Stephanopoulos’ statements.

And, the network will also pay $1 million in legal fees to the law firm of Trump’s attorney.

I guess ABC’s definition of “vigorously defending” and mine are much different.
