Media Companies CEO's

A couple of FTVLive readers wrote in with their takes on a couple of media companies CEO’s.

One FTVLive reader had this take on Scripp’s CEO Adam Symson:

According to page 53 of this PDF of a SEC filing, the Scripps CEO raked in $15 million in 2022 — representing a raise of more than $10 million compared to 2020.

Now suddenly, the company is trying to save millions by laying off anchors, editors and photographers who live paycheck to paycheck while giving a few more bread crumbs to MMJs.

Is the CEO’s raise the reason why the company feels the need to “reimagine” local news?

Another reader had a take on Nexstar CEO Perry Sook:

It’s interesting Perry Sook’s salary as Nexstar CEO is more than all three of the Big Three automakers CEOs. He also makes more than the CEO for Warner Brothers/Discovery, Exxon Mobile, JP Morgan Chase and Proctor and Gamble.

Yet Nexstar bosses give 1% raises. Some even ask people to take a pay cut after Perry got a huge pay raise. They will gaslight you saying you’re the crazy one for not wanting to work for peanuts. They will lie even more when you catch them in a lie. I hear it more and more from various stations. They’re also more concerned about shooting the messenger than solving the problem. This is Nexstar culture  and I’d stay far away from that company.

Here’s the list to prove the reader’s point.
