Signing Off in Bean Town

Longtime WCVB Sports Anchor Bob Halloran is retiring from the Boston after 38 years of being in the business.

Halloran's first job in the industry was in May 1985, in the Cape Cod area. He then went on to work as a News Director and sports anchor at WCVX-TV in Hyannis, Massachusetts, from August 1990 to May 1993. He then moved to WPRI in Providence, RI, where he worked as a news and sports anchor from June 1993 to August 1997. After that, he joined FOX-25 in Boston for a couple of years before moving to ESPN, where he worked for the next three years.

Halloran's retirement marks the end of an era in Boston's sports media landscape. He has been a fixture in the industry for almost four decades and has set the standard for sports broadcasting in the city. His passion and dedication to his craft will be missed.
